IN THEIR latest attack mission from RAF Akrotiri, two Tornado GR4 jets have destroyed targets near Fallujah, Iraq, the Cyprus News Agency reported on Thursday.
The GR4s dropped precision-guided Paveway IV bombs on vans equipped with weapons and trucks, having first confirmed no civilians or friendly forces were in the vicinity.
One of the trucks escaped the initial attack, but was subsequently struck and destroyed with a Brimstone missile.
As part of the fight against the Islamic State, the RAF has been flying attack missions out of Cyprus since late September. Its targets, including vehicles, bases and ammo supply dumps, are mainly around the Mosul area of northern Iraq and west of Baghdad close to the rebellious cities Ramadi and Fallujah.
